The Residences at Boston Landing

New Balance’s NB Development Group and HYM Investment Group have filed a Project Notification Form with the Boston Redevelopment Authority for a mixed-use project as part of their Boston Landing development.

According to the PNF, the developers want to build a 295-unit residential building with 16,000 sq ft of retail space, 155 parking spaces and 300 bicycle spaces on an 81,655 sq ft site that was the home of the BL Makepeace Company from 1984 to 2014.

New Balance has been developing that area for several years. They recently completed a new headquarters building and are working on an ice skating rink where the Boston Bruins will practice, a hotel, the Boston Landing commuter rail station on the Framingham/Worcester Line.

It’s a lot of property for one developer to take on, but they’re helped by the fact that Allston-Brighton is a fairly active neighborhood already and these projects have been near the places people already are.

According to project documents, the total square footage will be around 311,000 sq ft and the building will be six stories high on Guest Street and 17 high along Hichborn Street Extension, which hasn’t been built yet.
