Northeastern plans new dorm

Northeastern University filed a letter of intent with the Boston Redevelopment Authority to redevelop a 23,424 square foot site at 10 Burke Street into a new dormitory with 800 beds.

According to the LOI, Northeastern will lease the site to a company called American Campus Communities, who build the 310,000 square foot building, with student amenities and commercial space on the ground floor. No parking was mentioned in the LOI.

The lot is bounded by Burke Street, Coventry Street, Columbus Avenue and the buildings on Tremont Street. However, nothing was said about the the existing buildings on Columbus Avenue.
