The Madison Park Development Corporation filed plans with the Boston Redevelopment Authority yesterday to build a 21,374 square foot community center at 122 DeWitt Drive in Madison Park Village in Roxbury. The building will be two stories and include management offices, programming space and outdoor space.
According to the filing, the existing community space in Madison Park is inadequate for the needs of the residents, especially with new housing for 149 more families in the pipeline. The new community center will include space for kids to do homework, exercise space, an internet center and a “multi-purpose recreation room” in addition to the offices.
A 2700 square foot building on Raynor Road that’s home to the current public internet center will be torn down and 76 new units of housing built in its place.
