Developers Bryan Austin and Sean Morrisey filed plans with the Boston Redevelopment Authority to build a 31-apartment building at 76 Stonley Rd in Jamaica Plain. The majority of the residences will have two-bedrooms, one will be a three-bedroom unit and six will have one bedroom. Five will be affordable. There will be parking for 23 cars in an underground garage. The building will be four stories tall on its Stedman Street frontage and five stories on Stonley Road.
The 14,134 square foot site sits on Stonley Road and Stedman Street, between the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority’s Forest Hills bus yard and what looks to be a scrapyard. An existing light industrial building, home to Arborway Tree Care, will be torn down for the apartment building. It’s within walking distance of Forest Hills station, but it’s not an interesting or attractive walk.
The project will need variances for height, minimum open space per unit, rear yard setback and parking.
