The Davis Companies has filed for a special permit with the Cambridge Department of Community Development to build a 47, 139 square foot expansion to an office building at 35 Cambridepark Drive, across the street from the Alewife Red Line station. When complete, the two story addition will give the building a total of 184,774 square feet and the number of parking spaces will be reduced to 331. At the part closest to the station, 7500 square feet of retail space will be created on the ground floor.
An existing two story addition to the main three story building will be demolished. The amount of bike parking will also increase. The building is designed to be eligible for LEED Silver certification and is compliant with the Concord-Alewife plan.
The Cambridge Planning Board will hold a hearing on the proposal on August 2 at 7:00 pm.
