Riverside downzoning not dead yet

A controversial plan to downzone Cambridge’s Riverside neighborhood is not dead, according to a post by A Better Cambridge director Jesse Kanson-Benanav. Back in May, the Cambridge Planing Board agreed with pro-housing activists that prohibiting new housing in such a dense and walkable neighborhood would be a bad idea, recommending a conservation district instead.

However, a hearing has been scheduled on the original downzoning with the Ordinance Committee, which meets Wednesday at 5:30 in nCambridge City Hall.
